During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

Chandra passed through the seventh and eighth (and last) eclipse of the season on Jul 9 and 12 respectively with nominal power and thermal performance. Real-time procedures were executed on Jul 12 to disable SCS-29 and to dump and clear the EPS glitch counters as post-eclipse season actions.

A Chandra image release was issued on Jul 12 describing observations of the giant molecular cloud known as W51, one of the closest to Earth at a distance of about 17,000 light years. A composite image of W51 including data from Chandra and Spitzer shows that the X-ray emitting young stars are often clumped together closely and bathe their surroundings in high-energy light. The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of NGC 1313 X-1 coordinated with NuSTAR and an observation of CSS161010, which is a follow-up to a Director's Discretionary Time Target of Opportunity which was accepted on Dec 21.
