The Chandra plan of observations released last week will be interrupted tomorrow to incorporate an observation of SwiftJ0243.6+6124, which was accepted as a Director's Discretionary Time Target of Opportunity on Nov 8. A scheduled observation of CDWFS was impacted by the replan and will be rescheduled in a future week.

A real-time procedure was executed on Nov 8 to uplink a flight software patch that increases the HRMA strut maximum temperature thermal health-check threshold. This update is in response to increasing temperatures due to degradation of the Observatory's thermal covers during the mission and will reduce the possibility of an unnecessary swap to redundant thermal control hardware due to environmental heating. Additional real-time procedures were executed on Nov 8-9 to dump OBC-A and -B memory as a follow-up to the patch. The dump will be used to update the baseline memory images maintained on the ground.

A Chandra image release was issued on Nov 6 describing observations of Jupiter coordinated with the Juno mission. New X-ray observations show the auroras on Jupiter behave differently at each pole. The X-ray emission at Jupiter's south pole consistently pulsed every 11 minutes, but the X-rays seen from the north pole were erratic, increasing and decreasing in brightness — seemingly independent of the emission from the south pole. The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of HD 13831 which is coordinated with the VLA, an observation of SN2017gas, which was accepted as a Target of Opportunity on Oct 23 and is coordinated with NuStar, observations of Uranus which were accepted as a Director's Discretionary Time Target of Opportunity on Oct 29 and are coordinated with Hubble, the VLT and Gemini, and an observation of Swift J0243.6+6124, which was accepted as a Director's Discretionary Time Target of Opportunity on Nov 8.
