During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned. Real-time procedures were executed on Oct 5 to perform a routine self-check of the Electrical Interface Assembly (EIA) Sequencer and to perform a diagnostic dump of the Control Processing Electronics (CPE). Chandra passed through the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd eclipses of the season on Sep 30, Oct 3, and 6 respectively, with nominal power and thermal performance. A Chandra image release was issued on Oct 4 presenting new images which combine X-rays from Chandra with infrared data from early publicly-released James Webb Space Telescope images. The four objects were among the first images released by JWST after it finished its commissioning process. Chandra data generally show higher-energy phenomena (like superheated gas and the remnants of exploded stars) than Webb’s infrared view. Astronomers plan to combine data from these telescopes for many different objects in the future.
