Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 9 December 2022 9.00am EST

During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

Chandra passed through the 25th, 26th and 27th eclipses of the season on Dec 3, 5 and 8 respectively, with nominal power and thermal performance.

Real-time procedures were executed on Dec 2 to patch the primary database heater set points for the Telescope Forward Thermal Enclosure (TFTE) and set this as the active database. This completes a period of testing the new configuration which indicated very positive impacts on the spacecraft thermal status. An associated procedure reset the secondary database heater set points to their original configuration. Further real-time procedures were executed Dec 3-6 to dump OBC memory as a follow-up to the flight software patches. The dump will be used to update the baseline memory images maintained on the ground.

Additional real-time procedures were executed on Dec 7 to perform a routine self-check of the Electrical Interface Assembly (EIA) Sequencer and to perform a diagnostic dump of the Control Processing Electronics (CPE). Another real time procedure was executed Dec 9 to update the CPE parameter Sun Vector Solar Array to prevent extended attitude hold condition on the next Safe Mode transition.

The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below.
