During the last week, the observing schedule was interrupted due to high radiation associated with solar activity. The loads were halted at 6:34pm EDT on Apr 23 through a ground command to execute the SI Safing SCS 107. This prevented further exposure to damaging radiation for the ACIS instrument detectors. All spacecraft actions were nominal. Related real-time procedures were executed Apr 24 to update the observation identifier number to aid CXCDS processing and on Apr 27 to re-enable SCS 134. Loads for a replanned schedule were uplinked on Apr 25 with about 77ks of science time lost. Planned observations that were impacted by the interruption will be rescheduled in future weeks. Chandra passed through the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th eclipses of the season on Apr 22, Apr 25, and Apr 27 respectively, with nominal power and thermal performance. The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below. |
