Friday 16 February 2024 9.00am EST
During the last week the observing schedule was interrupted due to high radiation associated with solar activity. The loads were halted at 10:30pm EST on Feb 9 through a ground command to execute the SI Safing SCS 107. This prevented exposure to damaging radiation for the HRC instrument detectors. All spacecraft actions were nominal. Loads for a replanned schedule were uplinked on Feb 10 with about 75ks of science time lost. Planned observations that were impacted by the interruption will be rescheduled. Chandra passed through the 10th, 11th, and 12th eclipses of the season on Feb 9, 12, and 15 respectively, with nominal power and thermal performance. The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes observations of AT 2018hyz coordinated with VLA, observations of GX 13+1 coordinated with XRISM, and observations of MCG -6 -3-15 coordinated with XRISM. |
