During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as
planned.
An Aspect Camera dark current calibration was performed from the on-board loads on 7 August. A real-time procedure was executed on 9 August to perform a routine self-check of the Electrical Interface Assembly (EIA) Sequencer. A Chandra press release was issued on 8 August describing how Chandra data have been used to independently determine the Hubble Constant. The new value matches recent measurements using other methods and extends their validity to greater distances. For details see: http://chandra.harvard.edu/press/06_releases/press_080806.html The schedule of targets for next week is shown below and includes observations of 4U 1735-44, GX 17+2 and GX 349+2 coordinated with both RXTE and the VLA. |
