During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as
planned.
The data from an Aspect Camera dark current calibration conducted on Aug 7 were lost due to a DSN station anomaly and a repeat calibration will be rescheduled as soon as practical. A real-time procedure was executed on Aug 8 to perform a routine self-check of the Electrical Interface Assembly (EIA) Sequencer. A Chandra image release was issued on Aug 8 of two supernova remnants, G347.3-0.5 and RCW 86, that combine XMM-Newton wide-field data with Chandra high resolution images to investigate energy production and particle acceleration mechanisims. For further details see: http://chandra.harvard.edu/photo/2007/2snr The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below. |
