Operations continued as expected with Chandra during the last 24 hours. During the radiation zone passage no science observations were conducted. Following radiation zone exit, calibration observations with ACIS-I began of the gaseous nebulas Eta Carinae.
The analysis of the LETG/HRC-S focus observations was completed and a coarse focus position determined. This value has been incorporated in the next load scheduled to begin at 10.30am 9/8. Analysis of PCAD data following the grating motions yesterday showed one case of a higher than usual momentum excusion. TRW and EKC eingineers reccommended that the momentum monitor be disabled during grating motions in the next load in the same way as for SIM motions, while further analysis is completed. |
