During the last 24 hours observations of GTO targets continued up until the entry into the radiation belts. The regular ACIS pre-belt calibration source measurement was made, and the science instruments safed for belt passage. A post belt ACIS measurement will be completed at approx 4PM 9/22.
The observatory passed through its 3rd eclipse successfully at 5AM 9/22 and again showed performance that matched predictions. This eclipse lasted for 64 minutes. The next eclipse will occur at 8.55PM 9/24 and will last 69 minutes. Spacecraft systems continued to operated nominally. |
