Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 28 March 2003 8.30am EST

During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

Preparations were completed for performing a manual momentum dump using thruster A-1 (at 100%), A2 and A3 on 30 March. A flight software patch has been prepared to provide high rate telemetry of the bus current during the unload to help discriminate between specific fault cases (VDE vs thruster).

A Chandra press release was issued on 24 March that announced the use of Chandra to confirm a connection between a gamma-ray burst and Supernova explosion. For details see: http://chandra.harvard.edu/press/03_releases/press_032403.html.

The observing schedule for next week is shown below and is largely devoted to a raster of over 60 observations of an NOAO field.
