During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.
Real-time procedures were completed on Sep 2 to uplink and test a software patch to modify the threshold criteria for triggering science instrument safing under high radiation conditions. The change increases the number of sequential frames from EPHIN required to trigger a high radiation condition from 4 to 10 and will significantly reduce the number of unwanted triggers just prior to radiation belt entry. The uplink and test proceeded nominally. A Chandra image release was issued on September 3 showing the aftermath of a glancing collision between two galaxies in the Virgo cluster.
