During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.
Checkout and training with the the Avionics and Software Validation Test Set (ASVT) continued on schedule during the last week following its relocation from the west coast. A Chandra press release was issued on Sep 9 as a NASA HQ Space Science update. The SSU described observations of the Perseus galaxy cluster that show wavelike features that appear to be sound waves. For details see: http://chandra.harvard.edu/photo/2003/perseus/. Preparations are complete for the 4-year's with Chandra Symposium to be held in Huntsville Sept 16-18. The observing schedule for next week is shown below and includes an observation of RCW103 scheduled as part of a monitoring series. |
