During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as
planned.
A real-time procedure was completed on Apr 10 to update the on-board ephemeris. A second procedure was conducted on Apr 17 to perform a routine diagnostic dump of the Central Processing Electronics. A Chandra press release was issued on April 16 announcing the discovery of the most crowded collision of galaxy clusters. The result was obtained by combining information from three different telescopes and provides an opportunity to study a triple galaxy merger for the first time. For details see: http://chandra.harvard.edu/press/09_releases/press_041609.html The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of NGC 4051 coordinated with the VLA. |
