During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as
planned.
A real-time procedure was conducted on August 14 to turn off the Science Instrument Module FA6 heater. Turning off the FA6 heater is expected to create additional margin in control of the ACIS focal plane temperature. The heater will remain off while the spacecraft attitude is restricted to those that minimize the temperatures of the MUPS tank and fill panel, which are the attitude for which having the heater off is expected to have the greatest effect. A real-time procedure was completed on August 19 to update the on-board ephemeris. The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes the first use of a grating since the HETG retract switch anomaly of July 7. |
