During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as
planned.
A real-time procedure was executed on Nov 4 to perform a routine self-check of the Electrical Interface Assembly (EIA) Sequencer. A Chandra press release was issued on Nov 4 describing results from Chandra's observations of the supernova remnant Cassiopeia A (Cas A, for short) the remains of a massive star that exploded in our galaxy. The neutron star at the center of Cas A is found to have an ultra-thin carbon atmosphere. For details see: http://chandra.harvard.edu/press/09_releases/press_110409.html The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below |
