| During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as
planned.
Chandra passed through the ninth, tenth, and eleventh eclipses of the spring season on May 6, 9, and 11 respectively, with nominal power and thermal performance. A real-time procedure was executed on May 10 to clear a glitch counter that incremented during eclipse exit. The counter increment is expected under certain timing and thermal conditions. A second real-time procedure was completed on May 12 to update the on-board ephemeris. A Chandra press release was issued on May 11 as a NASA press release discussing observations of long-term brightness changes at X-ray energies from the Crab Nebula. Scientists looked to see if Chandra could spot the location of the source of "superflares" in gamma rays observed by Fermi and AGILE. While the Chandra data did not find correlations to those flares, it does help scientists refine their models for what is happening within the Crab.
