Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 7 October 2011 9.00am EDT

During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

Chandra passed through the fifth, sixth, and seventh eclipses of the fall season on Oct 1, 4, and 6 respectively, with nominal power and thermal performance. A real-time procedure was executed on Oct 5 to perform a routine self-check of the Electrical Interface Assembly (EIA) Sequencer. A second real-time procedure was executed on Oct 6 to patch the Central Processing Electronics (CPE) in preparation for the Draconids meteor shower on Oct 8. The patch sets the CPE yaw bias to zero and will be backed out after the meteor shower.

The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of MAXIJ1659-152, from a series of Target of Opportunity observations accepted on Apr 5, and an observation of the Crab, from a series of Director's Discretionary Time TOO observations accepted on Dec 14.
