During the last week the observing schedule was replanned to include a 20 ks observation of GRB 111117A, which was accepted as a Target of Opportunity on Nov 17. Observations of J084802.2+740546 and SLJ1647.7+3455 were impacted and will be rescheduled at a later date. Real-time procedures were executed on Nov 18 to dump OBC-A memory as a follow-up to the thermal health check patch of Nov 17. The dump will be used to update the baseline memory image maintained on the ground. Preparations are underway for a plannned update next week to the Chandra flight software and to ground software used to generate and validate mission loads. These updates are to improve the way that Chandra responds to high-radiation events due to solar activity. As part of these preparations, restrictions have been placed on TOO/DDT activity from Nov 23 to Dec 5. The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of NGC 2264 coordinated with Spitzer. |
