During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

Chandra passed through the twelfth, thirteenth and fourteenth eclipses of the season on Apr 14, 16, and 19 respectively, with nominal power and thermal performance.

A Chandra image release was issued on Apr 17 describing observations of the Tarantula Nebula (30 Doradus). The new composite image of 30 Doradus contains data from Chandra, Hubble, and Spitzer. 30 Doradus is one of the largest star-forming regions located close to the Milky Way. This region contains thousands of young massive stars, making it an excellent place to study how stars are born. For details see: http://chandra.si.edu/photo/2012/30dor/

Of note this week was the release on Apr 17 of CXCDS 8.4.4 for standard processing, which includes support for the upcoming leap-second.

The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes observations of 1 MAXI J1305-704 and 1 Nova LMC 2012, which were accepted as Director's Discretionary Time TOOs on Apr 16 and 17 respectively and an observation of PKS2155-304 coordinated with XMM-Newton and Suzaku.
