On July 23, we celebrated the 13th anniversary of Chandra's launch and 13 years of successful scientific operations. The spacecraft and instruments continue to operate superbly well and we look forward with excitement to the coming year of science discovery!

During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

Also of note this week was the release on Jul 24 of CALDB 4.5.1 with upgraded HRC-S time-dependent gain maps, to be used in reprocessing observations taken following the increase of the HRC-S microchannel-plate high voltage on Mar 28, 2012. The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of GRB 120711A, which is a follow-up to a Target of Opportunity accepted on Jul 17, and observations of Sgr A* coordinated with NuSTAR, Keck, VLT, SMA, CSO, CARMA, ALMA, EHT, HESS, and ATCA.
