During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned. A Chandra press release was issued on Dec 18 describing results of observations of the brightest galaxies in a sample of 18 galaxy clusters, to target the largest black holes. The survey shows that at least ten of the black holes may weigh between 10 and 40 billion times the mass of the sun. Astronomers have dubbed these "ultramassive" black holes. For details see: http://chandra.si.edu/press/12_releases/press_121812.html The schedule of targets for the next two weeks is shown below and includes observations of Delta Ori coordinated with MOST |
