During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned. A Chandra image release was issued on Jan 28 describing an observation of DEM L50, a superbubble found in the Large Magellanic Cloud. Superbubbles are created by winds from massive stars and the shock waves produced when the stars explode as supernovas. For details see: http://chandra.si.edu/photo/2013/deml50/ The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of Swift J174805.3-244637, which is a continuing monitoring of a Target of Opportunity accepted on Sep 4. |
