During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned. A real-time procedure was executed on Feb 15 to re-initialize the flight software Thruster Command Processing subfunction in order to prevent the occurrence of an overflow condition. Preparations are complete for the winter 2013 eclipse season; the season contains 14 eclipses and runs from Feb 17 to Mar 24. Real-time procedures were executed on Feb 16 to prepare for the first eclipse: one to activate SCS 29 and one to dump and clear the EPS glitch counters. Chandra passed through the first and second eclipses of the season Feb 17 and 20, with nominal power and thermal performance. The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of a M 82 transient, which was accepted as a Director's Discretionary Time TOO on Feb 11, and an observation of the Crab coordinated with HST. |
