Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 4 September 2015 9.00am EDT

During the last week the observing schedule was replanned to incorporate an observation of GRB150831A, which was accepted as a Target of Opportunity on Sep 1. Loads for the replanned schedule were uplinked on Sep 2. A portion of a scheduled observation of Cygnus A - E Hotspot was impacted by the replan and will be rescheduled in a future week.

A real-time procedure was executed on Sep 1 to confirm the operational capabilities of the updates to the CTU-A EEPROM that were uplinked on Aug 19. A second real-time procedure was executed on Sep 1 for an annual check-out of A-side MUPS thrusters, which are selected for use when Chandra is in its safe-mode configuration. Thrusters A3 and A4, on the cold side of the spacecraft, were fired and performed nominally. Thruster A1 was not fired due to the expected limited life remaining on it. Thruster A2 was tested nominally on May 26 during the transition to the Mixed-MUPS configuration and was not re-checked.

A real-time procedure was executed on Sep 2 to perform a routine self-check of the Electrical Interface Assembly (EIA) Sequencer.

The schedule of targets for the next two weeks is shown below and includes an observation of SNhunt275, a follow-up of a Director's Discretionary Time Target of Opportunity that was approved on May 26.
