During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned. A real-time procedure was executed on Oct 21 to collect bus-current data at a higher than normal rate during a planned angular-momentum unload. The data will be used to characterize the expected bus-current values for a range of thruster pulse durations during a nominal unload. A Chandra press release was issued on Oct 21 describing observations of a "tidal disruption" event, dubbed ASASSN-14li, the closest one discovered in ten years. Astronomers have witnessed stellar debris being blown away after a black hole destroyed the star.
