During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

A real-time procedure was executed on Nov 24 to obtain diagnostic information from ACIS's S0 video board and FEP 4. Future executions of this procedure are expected to aid in the response to understating ACIS anomalies involving FEP/DEA-video-board combinations.

A second real-time procedure was executed on Nov 25 to dump the contents of selected variables in the memory of the Control Processing Electronics (CPE). These variables are not explicitly initialized by the CPE Onboard Flight Firmware and are used immediately after transition to Safe Mode to determine the attitude control mode. Memory dumps of these variables will allow evaluation of their anticipated effects during a subsequent Safe Mode transitions.

A Chandra image release was issued on Nov 23 describing observations of the cluster of galaxies, SDSS J103842.59+484917.7, nicknamed the "Cheshire Cat" because of its resemblance to a smiling feline. Some of the cat-like features are actually distant galaxies whose light has been stretched and bent by the large amounts of mass contained in foreground galaxies. This is an effect called "gravitational lensing," predicted by Einstein's Theory of General Relativity that is celebrating its 100th anniversary.
