During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned. A Chandra press release was issued on May 24 as a NASA press release describing how astronomers combined data from Chandra, Hubble, and Spitzer to identify two candidate black hole "seeds", possibly at less than one billion years after the Big Bang. These results could represent a major step in the understanding of how the Universe's first giant black holes formed. For details see: http://chandra.si.edu/press/16_releases/press_052416.html The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes observations of M82 offset 2 and Jupiter coordinated with NuSTAR and HST respectively. |
