Q&A: Supernova Remnants and Neutron Stars

            Q:
What is the size of, X-ray energy of and exposure time of the
image of the Crab Nebula? 2) What is the presumed orientation of
the X-ray image versus that of the pulsar? i.e.: The jets in the
X-ray image, are they coincident with the rotation axis of the
               pulsar?
               A:
The largest angular size of the image from the jet on the lower
left to the upper right, is about 2'20"; the inner ring is about
               30" in diameter.

The energy band is roughly 0.5 to 10 keV; The exposure time was
12,000 sec. Presumably the X-ray jet is oriented along the
magnetic pole, or maybe the rotation axis of the pulsar.
