Q&A: Galaxies, Galaxy Clusters, AGN, and Quasars
Q:
In the past has there been a news
item that addressed the speed of distant quasars in relation to closer
objects nearer to Earth?
A:
Chandra has observed many
distant quasars, and one in particular may be interesting to you,
3C273. It is moving away from us at the incredibly fast speed of
one-tenth of the speed of light.
More information on 3C273 may be found at the Field Guide to X-ray
